Table of Contents

  • Pagination is present and accurate

Acknowledgements

  • Credit is given to those who have helped

Purpose & Hypothesis

  • States precisely what the investigation is attempting to discover or solve
  • States a definitie question or problem
  • Hypothesis is in IF-THEN-BECAUSE format

Background Research (BR)

  • Consistent voice is evident.
  • Logical and/or related grouping of information
  • Accuracy in calculations, spelling, grammar, and quotations
  • Typed double spaced, 1 inch margins, may be double sided
  • Parenthetically cited (in-text) using APA formatting

Materials & Methods of Procedure

  • Any apparatus and materials are listed.
  • Step by step chronological procedures are present. Metric measurements are used (SI), if possible.
  • Drawings and photographs are present if they enhance and clarify the procedure.
  • Number of test groups and number of trials within each test group is adequate.
  • Control or comparison group is defined.
  • Independent, dependent, and constant variables are defined.

Results

  • Data is organized into tables or charts with accompanying graphs.
  • Data is quantitative and correct metric units (SI) are used
  • Data is sufficient, clear, and accurate.
  • Data is analyzed and discussed.

Conclusions

  • Evaluation and interpretation of data is present.
  • Refers back to purpose & hypothesis; answers the original question with substantive experimental and BR information.
  • Is valid and limited to the results of the experiment.

References

  • References come from a variety and type of resources.
  • References are current and all are cited in text.
